A university project that resulted in a science and nature magazine created for a young and curious audience from a fictional futuristic cyberpunk society. The magazine showcases two articles and one short story exploring AI, fungi, and a neon dystopian world. The layout and visuals were inspired by the cyberpunk universes of Blade Runner 2049 (2017), Tron Legacy (2010), and The Matrix (1999).
Using a limited color palette and a structured layout, the pages feature rebellious paragraphs with phrases going off the page, pull quotes, imagery created with AI and distorted in Photoshop to illustrate the meaning of the articles within, and a very strong visual identity. Each design decision was taken to ensure the content the magazine contains married well with the ways in which it was presented to the audience. A style guide was also created to ensure consistency within the project.
